He was predeceased by: his wife Sylvia Swords (Thompson); his parents, Adam Swords and Susan Swords (Howe); and his siblings, Charles, Leroy, Howard, William, Walter, Edward, Glen, Claire Swords and Mary Elliot.
He is survived by: his children, Sylvia Loyce Gregory (Thomas) and Paul Swords, Jr. (Connie); his grandson Franklin Gregory (Heather); his great grandchildren, Brayden and Brycen Gregory; and his sisters, Eva Sexton and Betty Hite.
