He was predeceased by: his parents, Emanuel Ludwig Fondriest and Eva Louise Fondriest (Porotti); and his siblings, Francis Frederick and Thelma Marie Peterson. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Clara Migoni; his son Richard Charles; his daughter-in-law Nancy (Comparin) of Alexandria; his son Steven Michael; his daughter-in-law Elisabeth (Morgan) of Washington, D. C.; his grandsons, Jacob Anton, Joseph Thomas and Joshua Dylan of Alexandria, Virginia.; and his sister Carol Ann Chiu of Westerville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
