Walter Richard Martin Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter Richard Martin (Wellston, Ohio), who passed away on January 9, 2020 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva Vernon Martin and Edna Mae McNaughton Martin; his son Robert W. Martin; his grandson Rich Martin; his siblings, Clara Deck, Mary Edna Conley, Vernon Martin and Joseph Martin; and his pet Trixie (Cricket).
He is survived by: his wife Virginia A. Davis Martin; his children, Sandra S. Balzer of Jackson, Walter Richard Martin, Jr. (Carolina) of Columbus, Edward J. Martin (Terri) of Wellston, Kenneth Bryan Martin (Bonnie) of Wellston and Deanna F. Derrow of Wellston; and his daughter-in-law Jean Martin of Wellston. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Dick's memory be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or Hope United Methodist Church, 219 East First Street, Wellston, Ohio 45692.
