He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward Dickens and Myrtle M. Frye Varian; his wife Brenda Bishop Dickens; his son Buddy Dickens; and his sisters, June Louise Dickens and Phyllis Neary.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kathy Dotson (Jeff) of Athens and Teresa Stewart (Jack) of Wellston; his stepdaughter Kim Schauer (Jeff) of Wellston; and his siblings, Pat Pettry (Willis) of West Virginia, Donna Grounds of West Virginia, Margie King of West Virginia, Bill Dickens of West Virginia, Jim Dickens of West Virginia, Becky Arnold (Bill) of Florida, Charley Dickens of Florida and Phillip Dickens of Florida. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and1 step-great-grandson.
