He was predeceased by: his mother Irene Prater (Etts); and his brothers, Johnny Ray Prater, White Benjamin Prater and Gary Brower. He is survived by: his father White Prater (June); his wife Janet; his children, Chris Prater, Patricia Bosh (Naugle), Charles Prater, Jr., Justin Forche and Timothy Prater, Sr.; his stepchildren, Wendy Padgett, Betty Padgett, Carl Padgett and Jennifer Horvath; and his siblings, Michael Prater (Jewell), David Prater (Twila), Lois Allen (David), Dennis Prater Sr. (Roxanne McDaniel) and Carolyn Steel (Robbie). He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
