He is survived by: his wife Hildegarde Schmid Benns; his brother Charles Benns; his daughters, Renée Benns (Mistinguette Smith) and Carolyn Packis (Daniel); his granddaughters, Cassie Packis and Anna Packis; his son Guy William Benns, Jr.; his granddaughter Isabella Benns; his stepdaughter Judith Klein (Mark); his stepgrandchildren, Anna George, Zachary, Seth, Micah and Jesse Klein; his stepdaughter Carol Nevits; his stepgranddaughters, Cassie Nathan and Gretchen Conley; his stepdaughter Elisabeth Nevits; his stepgranddaughter Autumn Eucker; his stepdaughter Paula McQuade Navarre (Jim); his stepgrandsons, Patrick, Peter and Henry Navarre; his stepdaughter Genevieve Costanzo (Claudio); his stepgrandchildren, Morgan Southam, George and Cole Costanzo; and his stepson Timothy Nevits. He is also survived by in-laws, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends.
