He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Johann and Leona Barnes (Mierow); his siblings, Carol Barnes, Jim and Bill Barnes; his daughter Sarah; and his granddaughter Elizabeth Barnes.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Rose Logsdon; his children, Catherine (Tim), Peter (Lisa) and John (Julie); and his grandchildren, Riley (Leanna), Tyler (Kyle), Patrick Barnes (Jesse), Joshua Frey (Nikki), Emilie Rouse (Jerry), Adeline Kilbride (Bobby), Caroline Gould (Dougie), Eileen Rushlow (Jason), Madeline Frey, Anna Head (Jonathan), Olivia Frey and Margaret Orians (Playford). He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
