He was predeceased by: his father Walter; and his son Douglas Slattery. He is survived by: his children, Greg Slattery (Karen) of New Carlisle, Jane Tamai (Kevin) of Woodbridge and Virginia; and his sister Kathleen Kutscher of Tucson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
