He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sampson and Matilda Sampson; his wife Mary Ann Wellman; and his siblings, Bernie, Jim, George, Jean Young Thelma Houser and Shirley Davis.
He is survived by: his sons, Tom Sampson (Paula) of Gallatin, Bill Sampson (Pauline) of Lake Hills and Bob Sampson (Callie) of Claremont; his grandchildren, Andrea Sampson, Jonna Alexander (Will), Ray Haywood (Amanda), Catrina Sampson, Emily Sampson, Mindy Sampson and Kiel Sampson; his great grandchildren, Emma Haywood, Everly Haywood, Bryson Alexander, Elliott Jordan and Genaro Cisneros; and his siblings, Matilda Washburn and Albert Sampson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
