She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Williams and Ellen Williams (Jones); her husband John E. Ames; her daughter Doris Marie Jamhour; her grandson Chauncey Knight; and her siblings, Robert Williams, Charles Williams, Donald Burns, Dorthy Howard, Mary Channels, Barbara Walker, Shirley Robinson and Sarah Williams.
She is survived by: her children, Berry Ames (Lisa) of Lima, Tina Captain of Leesburg, Bruce Ames of Springfield and Romona Ames of Springfield; her grandchildren, Jon Captain, James Captain (Amy), Lydia Captain, Antonio Ames, Jason Smith, Jr., Michael Watts, Patricia Ames, Berry Ames, Marcus Watts, Rashauna Watts, Allen Ames and Shawn Goslin; her brother Daniel Williams; her cousin Teresa Williams; and her sisters-in-law, Shelvy Williams, Myra Calvin, Mary Hudson and Phyllis Williams. She is also survived by twenty-five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the New Hope Baptist Church (128 E Beech St, Hillsboro, OH 45133). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at the Hillsboro Cemetery.
