He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, August Kaufman and Melva Kaufman (Buchman); his sons, Christopher Darby Kaufman, Michael Darby Kaufman (Sarah Schindley) and Jonathan Darby Kaufman (Melissa Mehling); his grandchildren, Ashley (AJ), Braden, Jackson, Cameron and Reagan Kaufman; his wife Jacklyn Kaufman (Darby); his son Matthew; and his siblings, Vince, June, Ethlyn, August and Oral.
He served on many other boards including Sandusky Rotary, Emanuel United Church of Christ, Sandusky Blue Streaks Booster Club, the University of Toledo Foundation Board, and the Erie County Bar Association.
