He was predeceased by: his parents, Erie James Hardin, Sr. and Minnie Hardin (Tate); his wife Dr. Elsie M. Hardin (Murphy); and his siblings, Augusta, Della Ann, Ray, Dennis, Cleo, Ulysses, Erie James, Jr., Sally Ann and Julie Mae.
He is survived by: his children, Paulette of Sandusky, Elnora Higgenbottom (Roger) of Memphis, TN, Phillip Hardin (Jill) of Boston, MA and Paul Jude Hardin of Boardman, Ohio; his grandchildren, Antonio Hardin (Pam) of Sandusky, Simeon Hardin of Bronx, Dameshio Lofton of Columbus, Ohio, Blake and Grant Hardin of Boston, MA; his great grandchildren, Arryton Paige, Thailann Kensley Hardin, Spencer, Jr. and Carson Brown of Sandusky; his siblings-in-law, Reverend Ella McDonald (DeWitt), Brunell Aaron, Sr. (Danny), Anna Murphy (late J. C.), Joe Murphy, Jr. and Russell Murphy; and also Betty Jo Gillinger.
