She was predeceased by: her husband Thirkee Barron, Sr.; her mother Anna B. Norris; her son Sam Norris; her siblings, George, Robert Norris, Sam Norris, Irene Norris, Gene Norris, Rosalee North and Emma Norris; her daughter LaVerne Barron; her grandchildren, Jevin Wilson, Bret Wilson and Vanessa Barron; and her nieces, Sue Davis and Beverly Pettis.

She is survived by: her children, Steven Brown (Shasta Brown), Mary Wilson (Orlando Nuby), Thirkee Barron, Jr. (Barb Barron), Yvette Henson (Luther Henson) and MeLissa Norris; her grandchildren, Kenny Simmons, Christopher Aaron, Vincent Simmons, Sharel Wilson, Thirkee Simmons, Niya Barron, Tyrus Edwards, Fred Edwards, Steve Brown, Jr., Elise Brown, Andrew Brown, Marcus Brown, MarTeena Pino, DeLaney Norris and JoeTorion Bush; her close friend Emma Smoot; and her niece Christine Crayton. She is also survived by 38 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
