He was predeceased by: his father Jack Steffensmeier; and his brother Calvin. He is survived by: his mother Pearl Steffensmeier (Buskirk); his wife Greta; his sons, Philip and Eric; his stepdaughter Kylie; his grandson Isaac; and his siblings, Wendy, Candy, Chuck and Tami. He is also survived by 4 nieces and 9 nephews.
