He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Bertke and Anna Bertke (Lindhaus); his siblings, Leander (Vera Bertke), Cyril (Dorothy Bertke), Euleta (Werner Bensman), Louis (Evelyn Bertke), Ernest Bertke, Norma Otting, Marinus, Mary Ann and Dennis Bertke; and his parents-in-law, Henry, Emilia Borger (Kevelder), Norma Borger, Margaret, Lamar Bierly, Clara, Richard Crombie, Eva, Joseph Weitzel, Mildred, Frederick Donald, Mary Louise and Bernard Borger.
He is survived by: his former wife Anna Marie Borger; his children, Virginia (Donald Kremer), Helen (Robert Stover), Walter (Teresa Bertke) and Alfred (Patricia Bertke); his parents-in-law, Norbert Otting of Minster and Rita Bertke of Dayton; and his wife Annie. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and six step great grandchildren.
