He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Mershon and Frances Ramey Mershon; and his brothers, Kenneth Mershon Jr., Mike Mershon and Kevin Mershon.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Duncan; his children, Chris Mershon (Jennifer) and Angie Mershon (Scott Hutchison); his grandchildren, Chantel Lathrop, Cheyanne Mershon, Hunter Mershon and Claire Hutchison; his great grandchildren, Bryson of Knoxville, TN., Easton of Knoxville, TN., Alyvia of Knoxville, TN. and Jayce of Knoxville, TN.; his siblings, Steve Mershon (Candi Moore) of Granville, OH and Linda Moore of Portsmouth, OH; and his cousin Jim Ramey of Portsmouth, OH..
