He was predeceased by: his parents, Moses Smith and Maude Smith; his wife Geraldine Rickerd; his siblings, Grant Smith (Katy), Ben Smith (Patricia) and Ruth Ellen Nutter (Donald); his brothers-in-law, Burl Travis and James Jett; and his half-siblings, Pearl, Ruby and Earl.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Smith (Mary Kay) of Waterville, Jeanne Fehlen (James) of Maumee and Kevin Smith (Pamela) of Perrysburg; his sisters, Edwina Travis of West Union and Mary Jett of West Union; his close friend Diane Kenninger; his grandchildren, Gregg Smith (Dana), Kelly Nonnenmacher (John), Sarah Dewulf (Greg), Adam Smith, Michelle Ramlow and Nathan Smith (Sarah); his siblings-in-law, John and Elaine Rickerd; and his grandsons, Jared Lee Smith and Cole Michael Smith.
