He was predeceased by: his wife Ida; his parents, Adolf Rohde and Wera Rohde; and his sibling Waldemar. He is survived by: his children, Joseph (Lisa), John (Monica), George (late Diane), Rosemarie Chapman (Richard) and Lillian Hans (Ted); and his siblings, Paul, Siegfried and Edward Rohde.
