She was predeceased by: her father Florian Schortgen; her husband John A. Schroeder; her son Doug Schroeder; her grandson Justin Balbaugh; and her siblings, Charles Schortgen (Rosemary), Kenneth Schortgen, James Schortgen, Jerome "Jerry" Schortgen and Mary Kathleen Barlage (Melvin).

She is survived by: her children, Denise Balbaugh of Ottawa, Donna Wyland-Grillo (Gary) of Powell and Duwayne Schroeder (Linda) of Spencerville, IN; her grandchildren, Amanda Bogardus (Mike), Jared Balbaugh, Justine Warnimont (Kyle), Laina Klingler (Josh), Lauren Atha Skinner, Katie Schroeder and Johnathon Schroeder; her great grandchildren, Bethany Balbaugh, Billy Bogardus, Zoey Bogardus, Charlotte Bogardus, Colt Warnimont, Weston Warnimont, Shelby Warnimont and Bentley Skinner; her brother Donald Schortgen (Shirley); and her sisters-in-law, Marilyn Schortgen of Hamler, Sandy Schortgen of Hamler and Carol Schortgen of Ottawa.
