With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Louis J. Gaeta of North Ridgeville, Ohio, born in Cleveland, Ohio, who passed away on November 20, 2023 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Gaeta and Anna Gaeta; his former wife Pat Gaeta; and his siblings, Delores Palma (Ernie) and Michael Gaeta.

He is survived by: his wife Jean; his daughter Patti Lou Burke (Eddy Chiochetti); his grandchildren, Jason Burke and Kristen Weissfuss (Michael); his great grandchildren, Logan and Jordan Weissfuss; his brother Richard Gaeta (Ellie) of Florida; and his sister-in-law Johanna Gaeta of Illinois.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to to Medina Raptor Center http://www.medinaraptorcenter.org.

BRUCE TAYLOR lit a candle

“I worked with Lou when he was head of the animal facility at Hiram House Camp. I was an animal counselor there from 1956 through 1960. Lou always taught “kindness and understanding” when dealing with animals. At the time, Lou had a Golden Eagle, “Jezebell” and a Mountain Lion, “Cleo”. Lou taught me quite a bit about falconry and helped me get started in the field. I lost track of Lou in about 1960 when I went away to college. I was sorry to read of his passing and offer my condolences.”

“Marian and I met Lou and Jean at an Avon Lake eagle exhibition last fall. We were fortunate enough to spend a short time talking with them and were left wishing we could have made it a day. I don't know when I've met such a fascinating couple and told them I hoped we could get together again in the near future, as they were leaving. I will always regret that never happened, but I have a drawing that I made with Lou in mind during over half of the time I was making it that I wish you to have.”
