He was predeceased by: his children, Don, Donna Jean and Gary; his wives, Ruth Motes and Barbara Motes; and his siblings, Hubert, Elmer Emory, Pete, Charlie, Lucy, India and Josephine.
He is survived by: his children, Robert L. Motes of New Lebanon, Debra Pogue (Eddie) of New Lebanon, Ron Motes of New Lebanon and Cathy Motes. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
