He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Hastings (Brennan) and Clarence Chester Hastings. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Hastings (Sower); his children, Kimberly Rose (Gary), Tami Freshwater (Mike), Kevin Hastings and Jeff Hastings (Missy); his grandchildren, Sean Cass, Michelle Clouse (Brian), Chase Freshwater (Nicole), Zachary Freshwater (Joanna), Trey Freshwater, Kelsey McNamara (Jason), Graham Hastings (Haley), Connor Browning (Tyler), Hunter Hastings and Taylor Hastings; and his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brayden, Maddison, Lydia, Tucker, Tate, Knox, Theo, Annie, Emmie, Jack, Charlie and Nori. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Dayton.
