He was predeceased by: his parents, James Daniel and Rhea Maxine Higbee (Gates); and his sister Susie Able. He is survived by: his children, Shaina Hupp (Shaun) and John R. Higbee (Amber); and his stepdaughters, Nina Marie Smith and Virginia Ware-Havens.
