He is survived by: his wife Bertha Wenig; his children, David Mattix (Tracy), Steven Mattix (Debra) and Jamie Slaughterback (John); his grandchildren, Julia, Lane, Emma Mattix and Jillian Slaughterback; and his brothers, Lawrence Mattix and Dennis Mattix (Donna).
