He is survived by: his wife Rita Rae Higbea; his sons, Sean (Cassie Rickenberg), Daniel (Amy), James (Jennifer Sines), Nathaniel, John and Lincoln Hesselschwardt; his grandchildren, Alexia, Ethan, Eli and Jade Saneholtz; and his siblings, Mike (Vicki), Carol Sumner (Ron), David, Jean Bremer Defiance (Charlie), Joan Borstelman (Tom) and Susan Longstreth (Rob).
