He is survived by: his close friend Donna Beardsley; his son Earl M. Scruggs Jr. (Sherry); his stepchildren, Michael Hatch (Sara), Missy Hatch and Shelly Hatch Flowers (Gail); and his siblings, Mary Webb, Emma Robinson, Glady Owens and Lorenzo Scruggs.
