He was predeceased by: his parents, Hewie Carpenter and Ercell Carpenter; his siblings, Jasper, Harold Carpenter, Delores McIntosh and Ellen Lamb; his stepmother Ida Carpenter; his son-in-law Danny White; his grandson Marcus White; and his great grandchild Rayna Danielle White.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Carpenter (Jo) of Beavercreek, Ercel Trochelman (Tom), Beverly "Janie" Herron (Chris) of Miamisburg and Susan Kaiser (Todd) of Greenville, Ohio; his siblings, Thurman (Sandi), Raymond, Jack, Charles (Brenda), Bill (Debbie), Bentley Carpenter, Rosie Boggs, Reba Bussell, Irene Barrett (Danny), Teresa Allen (Phillip), Brenda "Sue" Gadd and Linda "Kay" Alexander (Randy); and his wife Lela Doris Carpenter (Day). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
