He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Darling and Mary Waddell Darling; and his wife Thelma Young Darling. He is survived by: his sons, Paul P. Darling of Ashley and Phillip S. Darling (Tarey) of Ashley. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
