She was predeceased by: her parents, John W. Essman and Sara Crabtree Essman; and her siblings, Yvonne Essman Wears, Shirley Essman McNew, Margaret Essman Gaines and Ron Essman.
She is survived by: her children, Curtis James Hayes (Lisa Bay) of McArthur and Tamara Rae Dawson of Columbus; her grandsons, Derrick James Dawson (Dana) of Reno and Raymond Lee Dawson (Shelby) of Columbus; her great grandchildren, Hayden Dawson and Aubree Chowning; her brother John R. Essman of Beavercreek; her siblings-in-law, Ronald G. Hayes (Mary) of McArthur, Raymond "Rick" Hayes (Cathy) of McArthur, Brenda Graham (Brad) of McArthur and Linda Allman (Joe) of McArthur; and her niece Debbie Martin Swart.
