He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Bayes and Thelma Gladys Robinette Bayes; his brothers, James Bayes and Lowell Bayes; his half-sister Celia Green; and his sister-in-law Linda Bayes.

He is survived by: his wife Inez Hayworth Bayes; his children, Bruce Bayes (Tammy) of Marysville, Jeff Bayes (Kandy) of Marysville and Teresa Adams (Roy) of Milford Center; his grandchildren, Wendy Haynie (Ron), Chandra Carnes (Tim), Lisa Bayes, Cody Bayes, Ryan Bayes, Shannon Nangle (Scott) and Jessica Aun (Randy); his great grandchildren, Keagan, Ethan, Evan, Gabrielle, Landon, Kaiden, Alyssa, Brooklyn and Macklin; his siblings, Robert Bayes of Magnetic Springs and Darlene Goddard (Don) of Richwood; and his sisters-in-law, Erica and Betty. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
