He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Jane" Carson; his son Robert Alan Carson; and his brothers, Floyd Carson, Herbert "Denny" Carson, Vernon C. Carson and Linley H. Carson.

He is survived by: his children, Ralph Lewis Carson (Denice) of Ashley, Catherine Marie Ando (John) of Marysville and Vicki Lynn Carson-Stark of Delaware; and his brother Myron Carson (Golda) of Fredericksburg, VA. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
