He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Wilson and Evelyn Margaret Porter Mayo; his wife Charlotte Louise Price Mayo; his brother Paul Mayo; and his brother-in-law Charlie Price.
He is survived by: his children, Elena "Ellie" Mayo Sparks (Johnny Forrest) of Raceland, KY, Elaine Jimenez (Vic) of Marysville and George J. "Bose" Mayo, Jr. (Amanda) of Portsmouth; his brother Howell Mayo of Hickory, NC; his grandchildren, Darrin Shank (Sarah), Hannah Sparks (Doni O'Loughlin), Kali Rae Mayo, Hayley Sparks, Zachary Mayo (Maddie), Ethan Jimenez and Diana Jimenez; his great grandchildren, Stella Rose Sparks, Layla Grace Ferguson and Lucy Mairead O'Loughlin; and his siblings-in-law, Tony Price (Judy) of Smithville, TN and Melinda Price of Portsmouth.
