He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Franklin Abicht and Ethel Alice Cunningham Abicht; his wife Velma Leona Schau; his siblings, Thelma Schau (Frank), Clara Smith (Robert), Richard Abicht (Ruth) and Orville Abicht; his siblings-in-law, George W. Powell, Jr. and Hazel McElfresh (Schau); and his son-in-law Steven Berga.
He is survived by: his daughters, Nina Berga of Harrisville, WV, Angela Burt (Danny) of Marietta and Sheila Wunderlich of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren, Brandy Hiener (Mark), Brad Burt (DeAnna), Brett Burt (Joanna), Shawn Berga (Juanita), Michael Berga, Steven Berga (Corinne), Sheri Harmon, Tyler Wunderlich (Adriana) and Cory Winters (Laura); his great grandchildren, Abigail Hiener, Aaron Heiner, Austin Burt (Collen), Camryn Burt, Weston Burt, Addison Berga, Danielle Berga, Matthew Berga and Keira Winters; his sister Lea Mae Powell of Texas; and his brother-in-law Dewey Schau. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
