He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Kurtz and Ruth Kurtz; his wife Marilyn Hartenstine Kurtz; his son Mark Alan Kurtz; and his brothers, Paul and Keith Kurtz.
He is survived by: his children, Melody Zimmerman (Mike) of Lowell, OH and Edward Kurtz (Angie) of Nelsonville, OH; and his grandchildren, Dawn Carsner (John) of Norristown, PA, Robert Colling (Suzy) of Leister, NC, Trista McClain of Nelsonville, OH and Justin Kurtz of Nelsonville, OH. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, the FOP, American Legion Post #64, American Union Lodge #1 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Aladdin Shrine, Marietta Shrine, Washington County Scottish Rite and RSVP Volunteer Senior Program.
