He was predeceased by: his grandfather James Carpenter; his great-grandparents, Martha "Ellen" Greer, Clyde and Nila Perkins; his cousin Tammy Dollish; his aunt Linda "Joyce" Perkins; and his uncles, Larry Perkins and Larry Greer.
He is survived by: his son Carter James Greer; the mother of his child Sarah Zellner; his grandmother Wanda Greer of Mansfield; his parents, Elizabeth Burks (Robert) of Lexington and James Greer Jr.; his sister Jessica Greer; his nieces and nephews, Ella, Cameron, Damien Sweval and Legos; his aunt Charla (Tim Bowman) of Mansfield; his uncle Ted Carpenter of North Carolina; and his cousins, Aaron and Eric Hamm (Hailee).
