He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl S. Smith and Florence I. Smith (Oswalt); his brothers, Wendell Smith and Donovan Smith; and his grandson Benjamin Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Smith (Bell); his children, Randall D. Smith (Diana) of Mansfield, Laurie D. Botdorf (Jerry) of Mansfield and Kathy L. Darling (Gregg) of Colorado; and his close friend Abbey. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.
