He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Switzer and Mary Switzer (Wierick); his son Charles Melvin Switzer; his siblings, Charles "Bob" Switzer and Gene Echelberger; his grandsons, Greg Henry and Alex Switzer; and his great grandchild Gwendalynne Ammons.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores Switzer (Essick); and his children, Kathy Switzer, Patty Ammons (Steve), Melony Windsor, Cindy Switzer, Scott Switzer and Susan Switzer. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
