She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Davis and Ruth Boyle Davis; her husband Virgil Jackson Shafer; her brother Richard Davis; and her close friend Mary Northrup.

She is survived by: her children, Roger Shafer (Melony Windsor), Rick Shafer, Edward Shafer, Roxan (Dale Phillips), Robyn Shafer (Howard Caudill) and Shannon (John Kelleher); her grandchildren, Alanya of Ashland, Josh Davis of Ashland, Mylea Shafer of Ashland, Brittany Shafer of Akron, Hunter of Lucas, Jackson of Lucas, Jed of Lucas, Jacob Shafer of Lucas, Ashley Loritz of Las Vegas, Tony Phillips of Mansfield, Colt Phillips of Fruita, Shane, Shepherd of Mansfield, Mary Kelleher of Oxford and Patrick Kelleher of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her siblings, Sondra Davis of Thomasboro, Patricia Cody of Huntersville, Ruthie Mosier of Indiana, Rosemary Wilson of Lexington and Ed Davis of Bay Village, Ohio; and her siblings-in-law, Judy Davis of Bellville, Ohio, Keith Shafer of Bellville and Gene Yohe of Mansfield. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
