He was predeceased by: his parents, James I. and Mary A. Pietracak Kolat; his wife Donna Jean; his son Charles R. Kolat; his siblings, John, Frank, Andrew, James, Stanley, Joseph, Walter, Robert, Rose Malachin, Martha Steiner and Mary Stefanick; his grandson Zachary Kolat; and his great grandchild Angel Marie Maker.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas H. Kolat (Nancy) of Lowellville, Walter R. Kolat of Youngstown, Timothy L. Kolat of Bellefont and Susan A. Griffith (Larry) of Salem; his grandchildren, Renee Kolat Brophy, Bryon Kolat, Ronald Kolat, Kelly Kolat May, Russell Kolat, Ashley Griffith Hahn, Danielle Kolat Maker, Milissa Kolat Dominick and Jacob Suthers; and his great grandchildren, Amanda Brophy, Ryan Brophy, Cheyanne Kolat, Kaylee Kolat, Ryleigh Kolat, Ryan Hahn, Bentley Hahn, Cody May, Noah May, Rilyn Dominick, Bennet Dominick, Luca Dominick, Gabriel Lamphere and Owen Jude Lamphere.
