It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Angela Smith of Louisville, Ohio, born in Canton, Ohio, who passed away on July 1, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Patsy Recchio and Tina Recchio (DiPede); and her former husband Jim "Beat" Smith Jr.. She is survived by: her son Patrick Smith of Canton; her grandchildren, Talon, Maverick and Nova; her siblings, Patricia DeDent of Canton, Marie Lucas (W. A.) of Minerva and Jerry Recchio (Dana Roll) of New Philadelphia; her nieces and nephews, Kristen DeDent of Canton, Kelli Smith (Nathan) of Mineral Springs, NC, Kerri Breckenridge of Minerva, Kyle Lucas (Lola) of East Rochester, Mia Brower (Andy) of Columbus, Ethan Recchio of Dallas, TX and Rachel Jones (Jesse) of Canton; and her daughter-in-law Amanda Smith of Louisville.
Rita worked for the Aultman Health Foundation for 40 years.
