He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Menegay and Marie Menegay (Gladieux); his sons, Mark Menegay and Patrick Menegay; and his siblings, Helen Zawadski, Doris Paro, Richard, Paul and Tom Menegay.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila Menegay; his daughter Mary Teel (Jeff); his grandchildren, Melinda Kulow (Brian), Savanna Wilburn (Alex), Amanda Myers (Kyle), Aaron Menegay and Joshua Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Grayson Wright, Addison Wilburn and Benjamin Myers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jim Menegay Scholarship Fund through the Louisville Scholarship Foundation located at 315 South Chapel St. in Louisville or The Sacred Heart of Mary Parish.
