He was predeceased by: his wife Gertrude; his son James "Little Jimmy" Phillips; his siblings, Arthur Phillips Jr., Irvin Phillips Sr., Alvin Phillips, Herbert Phillips, Rosanna Dent, Marva Louise Young, Pauline Young, Juanita Greenwade and Mary Banks Middlebrook; and his pet Duke.
He is survived by: his children, Irvin Phillips (Tonya), Robert Phillips (Christina), Darrin Phillips (Jennifer), Frenjula Jackson (Christopher), Byron Phillips (Tracy) and Jayme Phillips (Craig Keith); his grandchildren, Ciera, Robert Jr., Jordan, Damien, Jala, Spencer, Josiah, Shiloh, Canyon, Destine, Kelsey, Tyler, Kaylynn, O'Sheena, Lavada, Michael, Brooke, Shanice, Darenton, Ta'lor, Perkins, Zion, Gage, Tarique, Malia, Logan, Ambrazhay and Quantel; his sister Marilyn Miles (Faye); and his pet Tink. He is also survived by 31 great-grandchildren.
