He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Horn and Pauline Van Horn; and his brothers, Richard "Dick" Van Horn (Candi) and Larry Van Horn. He is survived by: his wife Kimberle S. "Kim" Van Horn of Lima; his niece Lisa Pauline Brown (Tim) of Lima; his in-laws, Robert and Lynda Lawrence of Lima; and his sister-in-law Joyce Van Horn.
