He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred A. Hefner and Marjorie Hefner (Smith); his former wife Lila Hefner; and his brother Don Hefner. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Hefner (Makris); his sons, Rick Hefner and Mark Hefner; and his stepchildren, Brad Elmquist, Kelly Frese and Mark Elmquist. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
