He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Bernard "Barney" and Harriett Harewood (Williams); his son Wendell Lee Harewood, Jr.; his grandson Timothy Harewood; his great grandchild Everleigh Harewood; his brothers, Perry Harewood, Bernard "Butch" Harewood and Michael W. Harewood; and his sister-in-law Melba Harewood.

He is survived by: his wife Freda J. Harewood (Adams); his daughter Tammy Miller of Hillsboro; his grandsons, Derek Ames (Hillary) of Hillsboro and Devin Ames of Hillsboro; his great grandchildren, Dinah, Drake and Dasia; and his sister-in-law Virginia Harewood of Hillsboro. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
