He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Kater and Raymond Kater; his brothers, Raymond Jr. and Charles Kater (Audrey); and his sisters-in-law, Martha Surber and Wanda Cromer.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Kater; his sons, Rusty Kater (Brenda) and Mark Kater (Ann Uhlman); his grandchildren, Ryan Kater (Melissa), Molly Bunch (Scott) and Joshua Kater; his great grandchildren, Nolan, Olivia Kater, Roxanne and Leo Bunch; and his sister-in-law Sharon Tragesser (Mike).
Memorials are requested to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Jim.
