He was predeceased by: his wife Rita Faye Smith; his daughter Judy Hensley; his brother Steven; and his parents, Irving R. Smith Sr. and Anna Marie Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Robert M. Smith (Toni) of Harrison, Michael A. Smith (Leann) of Springfield and Christina Gray of Cincinnati; and his siblings, Jack Smith of Cincinnati, Jacqueline Smith of Cincinnati, David, Lawrence, Jerry and Paula Smith. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
