He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Phelps and Eugene Phelps; and his sister Carol Wyntonia Dobbs. He is survived by: his wife Caroline "Carole" Bryant Phelps; his nieces and nephews, Perry (Kimberly), Jeffery Dobbs (Amy), Alexandra Hipp (Brandon) and Rebecca Bryant; his brother-in-law Ken Bryant (Maria); his parent-in-law Genny Bryant; and his pet Zenna.
