He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Catherine Brickner and Joseph Brickner; his wife Rita Brickner; his children, Greg Brickner (Vicki), Cindy Zink (Kelly) and Missy Tada (Dave); his grandchildren, Maggie Brickner, Emma Brickner, Eion Zink, Michael Zink, Alex Tada and Nathan Tada; and his siblings, Steve Brickner (Donna) and Sylvia Weitzel (Bob). He was also cherished by co-workers, friends, and neighbors.

The family asks that instead of flowers memorials be made to one of the following charities: Tunnel 2 Towers (which is a charity that helps families of 911 and veteran families), St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Xavier University All for One.

When everyone gave up on roller grill you said “ I am going to grab my books this weekend and when I get back on Monday we will roll bricks on that grill”. You came back to the office on Monday and called me back to the plant to see what you had developed. It worked and the success of Roller Grill and 7 Eleven launch was saved. You were the best.
