She was predeceased by: her parents, Caleb Stapleton and Anna Marie Stapleton (Vickers); and her siblings, Orville Jay Stapleton, Lucy Ellen Stapleton, Dorothy Cross and Cleda Merritt.
She is survived by: her children, Glenn Merritt (Lora) of Chillicothe, Wesley Merritt (Shelly) of Frankfort, Jerrold Merritt of Greenfield and Susie Gill of Greenfield; her grandchildren, James Merritt, Logan Merritt and Melanie Peters (John); her great grandchildren, Phoebe and Trenton; and her siblings, Carlos Stapleton (Evelyn) of Greenfield, James Stapleton (Pam) of Washington, C. H. and Jewell Deaton of Greenfield. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
